It's amazing how many projects a teacher can find to complete over the summer! We have been out for 4 weeks now, and I'm finally feeling the urge to revamp my classroom. My new decor will be black and white chevron. My old green lamp from Ikea had seen its better days, but I love the shape of the lamp. So, my good teacher buddy and I decided to cover the shade. Because of the shape of the shade, we couldn't use fabric without it puckering in places. After buying almost all of the chevron ribbon available at Hobby Lobby, we put the extra ribbon to good use.
This was a very simple project to complete. We just looped the ribbon around the shade and used a bit of hot glue to secure the ribbon in place. In less than 10 minutes, I had a new lamp shade to coordinate with my room. I love it!
What a great idea! Your lamp turned out so chic. I can't wait to try this on my worn out lamp.
ReplyDeleteIt's great and so easy! Just make sure you have enough ribbon. It took us three rolls!
